I hope you’ve gotten a little bit of inspiration via my posts about Martha Beck & Elizabeth Gilbert. Both of them offer creative ways to cut through the noise of your mind and emotions and connecting to your intuition & inner knowing. I continue to play with Martha Beck’s “I like you and you like me” method and Liz Gilbert’s short letters to clear through the noise and reconnect with my enchantment. Have you decided to try out anything new? I’d love to hear about it.
Yesterday, I “randomly” (we both know it’s not random) found a movie on Prime called Inner Worlds, Outer Worlds (2012). This is a non-fiction movie about everything that interests me: 1) showing how we are all part of one vibratory field in this universe 2) holographics: the mirroring of patterns from the microcosm to the macrocosm 3) How all religions carry similar principals beyond the theology AND 4) HARA!
Hara
If you’ve watched my Free Energy Healing at Home Series (available on my website), you may have experimented with aligning your Hara. Simply put,the Hara is the dimension of intention within ourselves. When our Hara is aligned, our intentions are stronger. If we align our Hara, it influences our chakras and auric field around us. If you’ve worked with me, you may have received a Hara healing: a session spent focusing on the alignment of your Hara.
The movie Inner Worlds, gives some beautiful illustrations & explanations around Hara (see bottom of this post for some links to watch). They describe Hara as “the stillness in the eye of the hurricane“. Easy ways to visually notice Hara within a person is when you are watching a person shine in an area of their life. They do something challenging and make it look effortless. Athletes are an easy way to witness Hara. Performers at the top of their game are another way. I love witnessing this with athletes figure-skating or skiing moguls.
If you are like me (neither a professional athlete or performer), you may notice Hara reflected in other areas of your life at work, home or in the community. I can see it in my work when I help people connect to the hard and/or deep-truths underneath the noise of their stories & lives. I can see it in my driving skills. I see it when I’m mountain-biking and I’m less in my head and just enjoying the trail.
Where do you notice Hara in your life?
Connecting & aligning our Hara is another way to help clear the noise of our minds & world. When we pause and align our energy field, this can be a non-thinking way to connect to something much deeper within ourselves. This connection can help us with focus, intentionality, and clarity within our lives.
If you’ve reflected on the places that you are in Hara in your life, you may have noticed that there is little to no thinking involved. It can be effortless. Now imagine if you paused and connected to your Hara regularly throughout the day as you went through your tasks. This can help us intentionally ground within ourselves and find that “eye within the storm” of our thoughts & emotions.
Thinking is Just a Sense That’s Over-Used
Later in the movie Inner Worlds, Outer Worlds, they share one interpretation of the image of the eye of Horus (see below). The Eye of Horus can be viewed as a combination of symbols that represent the senses. Sight, smell, hearing, taste, touch AND thought.
In some respects viewing thought as a sense seems very obvious. We are living in a time where we are so fully immersed in our thoughts that we often believe that we are our thoughts. But what if we remembered that thinking was just another sense?
A Dream I Had
After I watched that movie, I had a dream where people were trying to convince me to join a cult. They showed me all the shiny things and wonderful people and it looked like an amazing place. At the same time, I knew I wasn’t interested in joining, but I marvelled at how enticing it looked.
When I awoke, I had an Aha moment about my dream. I thought, “Oh no. I’m involved in a thought cult where I have forgotten that my thoughts are just a sense”. Well damn it. As much pain as this cult gives me, I do really love this cult too. Hmmmm. There are reasons why people join cults and reasons why people leave them. What would it take for me to leave this cult? Do I even want to leave it?
Deep thoughts at 7am, no pressure Juanita! And wasn’t it my thoughts that helped realize this? (But I digress…)
After you’ve connected to your Hara, this is a beautiful time to ask yourself that intuitive question (or two).
