Welcome! Thanks for wanting to learn more about me, and whether I’m a good fit for you.
I’m a psychotherapist and energy healer who offers a unique combination of conventional and holistic modalities. I’ve been a counsellor/ psychotherapist since 2005, working with people from all walks of life on issues that vary from profound childhood trauma to a feeling of dissatisfaction.
With fearless compassion, I will help you find the insight and courage to take the next steps on your journey. I offer you complete presence in my sessions, and won’t let you hide behind the stories you’ve told yourself. Together we will explore your problems and seek out new avenues to relief or healing.
My sessions generally combine counselling and energy healing, but we will customize your sessions to use whichever modality you’re most comfortable with.
Some of my clients have never tried talk-therapy because they think their problems are small compared to those around them. Or maybe they have tried many different types of treatment, but still feel stuck. Often these people have been told to just stay positive and grateful and they earnestly try. Most continue to put others’ needs before their own with the secret hope that they will be given what they need in return. When it doesn’t happen, they feel resentful.
If you’re a person who’s struggled with a long-term issue or illness, it can be overwhelming and frustrating to seek more help. You may even feel like your difficulty is a life sentence. Clearly there’s still a part of you that is hopeful, or you wouldn’t be reading this page.
You may not even know exactly what it is that what you want, but you know you want more from your life. With the right support given at the right time, profound shifts can happen.
As with any practitioner, healing is always a possibility but never a guarantee. While I can’t guarantee to heal you on a physical level, I can offer you a path to find a new relationship with whatever it is you find yourself dealing with so that it becomes less of a burden.
The philosophy behind including energy work in a counselling session, is that healing and rebalancing comes from having cognitive awareness of patterns that are no longer serving you, in combination with balancing and healing of your body’s energetic field. It can be a gradual process of restoring wholeness, yet, when a client is ready to shift, rapid changes can happen. Some of my clients have experienced profound shifts that led to deep inner peace and newly discovered self-love after just a few talk/energy sessions.
In 2005 I got my Reiki I certification, and level II the following year. Since then I have been honing my abilities and seeking deeper knowledge. In 2016 I became a Brennan Healing Practitioner at the Barbara Brennan School of Healing in Boca Raton, Florida, the world’s premier institute for Hands-On Healing and Personal Transformation.
It was an honour to study in a school created by Barbara Brennan, a renown healer and former NASA physicist, who devoted 35 years of her life to research and exploration of the Human Energy Field — knowledge which she captured in the best-selling healing manual Hands of Light, as well as Light Emerging, and Core Light Healing and the Seeds of the Spirit series.
Here’s how I found my way to offer this unique work:
I have worked with teens and adults with mental health issues since 2001. Currently my main modalities are Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy and Polyvagal Therapy. I also have in-depth training in multiple types of psychotherapy including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Emotion Focussed Family Therapy (EFFT). While these types of psychotherapy inform my practice, I offer the approach most suited to you and your circumstances.
My greatest teachers have always been those people who listen to the stories I tell about my life with compassion and insight. They challenge the stories I’ve told about myself and don’t tell me what to do, yet they also don’t abandon me to do it all myself. They hold my hand, even when they’re not physically present with me, and know how to help me shift. This is what I offer to you.

I grew up on a dairy farm in the Hamilton area. I continue to love animals and the outdoors. You might find me mountain biking, hiking, running or canoeing. I am married and a mother of 2 boys. We enjoy time with our dog and 2 cats. I grew up in a family who loved to travel. In 2017, I spent a year abroad living in the South of France with my family.
